1989 red stripe base:  This "AAA 000" format base was introduced in 1989 ("90" sticker).  Note from ALPCA archives: Arkansas uses a rolling replate system where each year plates which are 8 years old must be replaced so that by 1997, theoretically, all of these base plates should be off the road, although as of 2002 some are still valid.

1996 all white base:  This "000 AAA" format base was introduced in 1996 ("97" sticker).  Theoretically, this base should be off the roads as of 2005, according to Arkansas' rolling replate system, although as of 2007 it remains the current base plate.
