TRUCK

Truck:  This class is for commercial trucks operated within the state and has a six-month validation period.  However, there are truck plates that expire on September 30th.  I don't know the reason for this.  Like the interstate ("APPORTIONED") trucks, the letter to the left of the vertical "TRUCK" is a weight code.  The colors changed with each new fiscal year plate.  The code letters are as follows:

"B" = 6,000 to 20,000 lbs

"C" = 20,001 to 40,000 lbs.

"D" = 40,000 to 55,000 lbs.

"E" = 55,001 to 60,000 lbs.

"H" = 60,001 to 68,000 lbs.

"J" = 68,001 to 73,280 lbs.

"K" = 73,281 to 87,000 lbs.

"EXP. 6-30-94" (black/dark yellow) mint $1.00

"EXP. 9-30-95" (black/dark yellow) "J" mint $1.00

"EXP. 12-31-95" (black/white) "J" mint $1.00

"EXP. 6-30-96" (black/dark yellow) "B" mint $1.00

"EXP. 6-30-96" (black/dark yellow) "D" mint $1.00

"EXP. 6-30-96" (black/dark yellow) "K" mint $1.00

"EXP. 9-30-96" (black/reflective beige) "K" mint $1.00

"EXP. 6-30-97" (black/reflective beige) "B" mint $1.00

Beginning with the June 30, 1998 expiration, the state converted to a standard black/dark yellow base, renewed by stickers.
