PASSENGER

Centennial base:  The following graphic design celebrated Colorado's centennial of statehood in 1976.  It began for use in 1975 and has a screened "75" in the lower right corner of the plate.  For the 1976 expiration, the "75" was covered by "76" "PASSENGER" stickers.  It was replaced by the white/green design in 1977.  The two-letter prefix is the county code as in previous years.  See the "Colorado county codes" page for the prefix assignment.

1977 base, 6-digit "AA-0000" format:  This first variation of the 1977 multiyear design was not issued with stickers.  Renewal stickers began in 1978.  See the "Coloroado county codes" page for the prefix assignment.

1977 base, 6-digit "AAA-000" format:  This variation of the 1977 multiyear design began about 1988 for counties that exceeded their prefix assignment.  See the "Colorado county codes" page for the prefix assignment.

1977 base, 7-digit "AAA0000" format:  This variation of the 1977 multiyear design began about 1993 for counties that exceeded their prefix assignment.  See the "Colorado county codes" page for the prefix assignment.

2000 graphic base:  The following graphic design began in 2000 (with "00" stickers for expirations in 2000) and put the county coded lettering to an end.  The stickers continued to be different for emissions counties and non-emissions counties.
