COMMERCIAL - replacement Delaware is unique when it comes to replacement plates. While some states give the owner a new plate with the old plate number and many states simply give the owner a completely new set of plates (with a plate number different than the lost plate(s), usually the next plate number in the issuing sequence), Delaware takes a plate blank and rivets the letters/numbers to the blank. This replacement system is used for all plate types (passenger, commercial, pleasure commercial, farm trailer, etc.). Replacement plates, therefore, look like this on the back:
and you can feel the "added" plate numbers on the surface, rather than completely flat like on the original plates. For this plate class, I've seen two types. Normally, commercial plates are indicated with either a "C" prefix or a stacked "CL" prefix. On "C" plates, therefore, the "C" is riveted to the plate. However, on "CL" replacements, the "CL" is screened on the plate. 2000 (reflective tan/blue) natural vg $6.00 "CL38447" (10412)
