TRUCK Idaho has county coded its plates since 1932. See the Idaho county codes page. 1991 red/white/blue base: This design was born from the popular centennial design and originally had a small stacked (or single letter) county code. Approximately 1998, the state changed to a full sized county code for clarity. The difference between the passenger plate and truck plate is the plate number format. Truck plates have a "T" at the end of the plate number. Small-sized county code:
