APPORTIONED, TRAILER

This plate is for an interstate vehicle with the vehicle registration fees being "apportioned" between the states that the vehicle operates in.  The "P" prefix means the "power" vehicle, as opposed to the "T" prefix for the trailer (link to "Montana apportioned, power").  The "S" prefix is used for "Service" vehicles, vehicles that transport people, such as buses (link to "Montana apportioned, service").
