PASSENGER - 2006 "Big Sky Country" base

Passenger:  Up to 1975, Montana issued either yearly plates or multiyear plates that are renewed for only one or a few extra years before a general reissue provided new plates for everyone.  Because Montana county codes the plates, the pages can get enormous to download.  I have a very nice (and large) selection of counties, so beginning with the 1976 bicentennial design plate, I have split the pages into the following bases, each being a link to my website page of that type:

2006 "Big Sky Country" graphic base:  This design was issue beginning in January 2006.  The plate was phased in upon the vehicle's renewal with the owner receiving new plates with "07" stickers.  The new design has a "C" following the plate number for single digit county numbers, similar to the 1991 "Big Sky" base's "P" for single county numbered bases (see "Montana county codes" page).  For all counties, the county number was followed by a steer skull separator, then the plate number in all numeric format with no leading zeros.  Counties that reached "00000" went to "0000A" (generally with no leading zeros, although I've seen a few plates with leading zeros).  Sometime during 2008 ("09" expirations), the state began also issuing stickers that included the month and year, as well as the plate number as part of the sticker serial number.
