Trailer:  The plate format is the county code number, "X", then the plate number.

1996 black/white:  This base was introduced in 1996 ("97" expiration sticker) and was issued along side the 1996 orange sky graphic.  The plate number format had the county number as a prefix (see Nebraska county codes page), followed a hyphen separator.  The plate number followed with a "X" prefix that denoted the plate for trailers.  If the plate number following the "X" reached "9999", five-digit plate numbered plates excluded the hyphen separator.
