1988 centennial base:  In anticipation of the state's 100th anniversary of statehood in 1989, North Dakota issued this full color design.  The plate number format was changed to "AAA 000", beginning with the "BAA" block.

1993 (black/reflective multicolored) exc $6.00 "CGT 791" (11216)

1993 "Discover the Spirit" base: This base began in 1993 and replaced the previous centennial base.  Plate numbers started at "DAA 000".  Beginning in late 2004 (2005 expirations), the plate number was printed on the renewal sticker.
