1996 gold fade "the heart of it all!" base: Similar to the 1991 issue, this base had a reflective background of gold at bottom fading to white at top.  This base had a "000AAA" plate number format (no space between the numbers and letters) with the institution's emblem at the left.  Stickers used to indicate county name placed in the bottom left stickerwell.

1997 gold fade "BIRTHPLACE OF AVIATION" base: The base was identical to the 1996 base above, except that it had a screened red "BIRTHPLACE OF AVIATION" in block lettering immediately beneath the "OHIO".  This base also had a "000AAA" plate number format (no space between the numbers and letters) with the institution's emblem at the left.  Stickers used to indicate county name placed in the bottom left stickerwell.

2001 "Ohio Bicentennial" base: This blue/reflective white with white/red "1803 Ohio Bicentennial 2003" at top and white/blue "BIRTHPLACE OF AVIATION" at bottom was issued to commemorate Ohio's bicentennial of statehood.  This base also had a "000AAA" plate number format (no space between the numbers and letters) with the institution's emblem at the left.  Stickers used to indicate county name placed in the bottom left stickerwell.  It is important to note that since the bicentennial base was used for only a short time, there are fewer of these university plates than the other longer run bases.
