PASSENGER, 1988/1990/2004 GRAPHIC TREE BASES

Passenger:  Beginning with the state's last general issue base in 1956, Oregon has issued relatively few multiyear bases, all renewed with yearly stickers and still in use today, provided they are on the original vehicle.  Because I happened to obtain a large collection of the 1964 and 1974 base plates, the pages can get enormous to download.  Beginning with the 1964 gold/blue base, I have split the pages into the following bases, each being a link to my website page of that type:

1988 light tree graphic:  The first graphic for the state featured a douglas fir set in front of tall mountains.  At first, the design was not well taken with many people feeling that the tree looked "dead".  The design was later modified in 1990.  The plate number format used was "AAA 000" and picked up where the previous blue/yellow left off, beginning with the "PDN" block.

1990 dark tree "AAA 000" graphic:  This is the same design as the 1988 light tree above, but with the colors changed for the mountains and the tree now a dark green.  The plate numbers continued where the light tree base left off in a "AAA 000" format.

2004 dark tree "000 AAA" graphic:  Same design as the 1990 base above, but the plate numbers were flipped to a "000 AAA" format when the previous format was exhausted, beginning with the "BAA" block because the "Axx" block was used for the Oregon Trail design.
