Dealer:  Dealer plates are issued yearly and the plate number format is as follows:  the dealership number is at the right of the plate in full size, and at the left, a small (stacked) "D" is over the plate's number.  In other words, if the dealership receives multiple plates, the plates are numbered from "1" and up under the "D" on the left side of the plate.  The registration card is attached to the back of the plate and secured by rivets.  If the plate does not have the card attached, the rivets remain and actually stick out from the back of the plate.  Care is necessary to make sure these rivets don't scratch the plate behind it.  The plates were originally issued in envelopes and in many cases I have that envelope.  When I have the envelope, it will be included with the scan below.  The reverse of the envelopes is pictured here:
